World Water Week is a conference on global water issues organized by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) since 1991. Organizations from all sectors and regions of the world come together once a year to find solutions to water-related challenges. This year’s theme is “Building Resilience Faster” with focus on the role of water in the current climate and pandemic crisis.
As one of the leaders in providing water, sanitation and hygiene loans (WASH) in partnership with Water.org and our commitment during the pandemic to continuously offer WASH loans to our clients, Bina Artha was invited to participate in one of the panels of World Water Week.
Novita Sari, BAV’s Research & Development Manager, was one of the panelists to cover the session on “Water: the final frontier for women’s economic empowerment”. The discussion touched on the critical role that access to water and sanitation loans impacts income for women and explore alternative financing opportunities. Bina Artha’s experience related to WASH loan product was highlighted during the session to make a clear connection between access to the WASH loan and income.
